On 15 July 2026, MAINCODE takes part in the 24th Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS 2026), held in Vienna from 12 to 17 July, with the presentation “Opening Schoolyards, Structuring Decisions: MCDA for Urban Climate Shelters.” Starting from children’s design proposals, the study explores how Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) can support the structuring and evaluation of planning scenarios according to the values and needs of public and private stakeholders. The contribution highlights how MCDA can translate diverse stakeholder perspectives into transparent decision-making criteria, support the comparison of alternative schoolyard transformation scenarios, and facilitate more inclusive and informed planning for urban climate shelters.
