MAINCODE takes part in Placemaking Week Europe 2025, held from 23 to 26 September 2025 in Reggio Emilia, Italy. This international festival brings together practitioners, city planners, policymakers, and community leaders to explore innovative strategies for creating more sustainable, inclusive, and connected public spaces. As part of the Places of Well-Being theme of this year’s festival, MAINCODE attends the session “Learning Grounds for Well-Being: Schools as Laboratories for Regenerative Placemaking – A school plaza for every community!” coordinated by Zandra Thuvesson and Bjorn Wallsten (Formas – Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development), and Mario Bellinzona (LaQUP). The session explores how participatory design processes can transform schools into shared spaces that strengthen climate resilience and foster social connection.
MAINCODE has been funded by the Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca (MUR), the Innovation Fund of Denmark (IFD), and General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI) under the Driving Urban Transitions Partnership which has been co-funded by the European Commission. MAINCODE runs from 2025 to 2027
